Neidlinger was a concert singer and comedian who grew up summering in Leonardo, returned to the Bayshore in her later years and lead the charge to save the dilapidated White Tavern, as the house was known then. The Seabrook-Wilson House has a rich history, befitting of one of the oldest homes still standing in Monmouth County. In the early 19th century the house belonged to a local reverend named William V. Wilson and his wife Martha, whose residence there would add the second part of its official name, the Seabrook-Wilson Homestead.
